A Quick Tip to Get Unstuck: Breaking Free from Bondage

by | Sep 2, 2013 | Uncategorized

Today is a holiday in the United States where we celebrate our history of labor and the prosperity of a nation. We bid farewell to the long days of summer and welcome the ushering in of the school year and autumn days.

The celebration of nation and labor prompts a conversation about forms of bondage.

Not so positive, I know. But my speciality is helping individuals break free from bondage. I help clients get unstuck. After all, what does it mean to feel stuck?

When we are stuck because of our limiting beliefs and emotional history, we surrender to emotional and mental bondage.

I am convinced that this conversation is crucial to our healing.
If you look at the past, you study histories of economic bondage, the bondage of slavery, the bondage of a patriarchal system that limited choices for women, the bondage of children. And yes, violent bondage still exists in the world today.

But there also exists an insidious, less visible bondage:
The bondage of the psyche.

This emotional bondage and limiting mindset is my expertise, as I work with clients to release the limiting beliefs and emotional history that keeps them from reaching their highest potential.

My scholarly research focused on generational trauma and healing. The question that nagged me was: how can we get unstuck from the patterns passed down from our family?

We live in a time of great freedom and opportunities.
Yet there are so many of us still mired in emotional bondage.

I was too familiar with that bondage, the stories that drove my addiction and self-sabotaging behaviors for many years.

We are stuck in:

  • the bondage of old hurts and resentments
  • the bondage of childhood history
  • the bondage of spending more than we earn
  • the bondage of feeling stuck in where you are now because of what happened to you in the past
  • the bondage of unhappy or (at best) unfulfilled marriages
  • the bondage of mediocrity
  • the bondage of being afraid to be vulnerable.

So on this day of celebration of labor and work, consider this question:
Why am I free to choose a life that resonates with my soul’s purpose and innermost desire?

When you choose your truth, when you are aligned with your soul’s purpose, you feel AWESOME!

You are living in integrity with the truth of your being, you are FREE.

That energetic vibration is where your power is, where your prosperity lies, where you can access all the abundance that awaits you…

But we often stop short of taking that leap.
The next post will focus on Integrity as the sweet spot to creating all that you desire.

But today, focus on creating what Noah St. John calls an “afformation.”  I just finished reading his book Afformations, and I love it this tool creates an energetic shift. It is so empowering!

State what you would like to create in your life in the form of a question.

Instead of asking: why am I so stuck? Frame your condition positively:

  • Why am I such a success?
  • Why am I free of family beliefs that seek to limit my truth?
  • Why am I so happy?
  • Why do I attract so many ideal clients who love to work with me and are transformed by our work together?
  • Why is my business so prosperous?

Your subconscious will work to shift you in the direction of making that question a possibility. Just framing your question in a positive light opens the door to the possibility of creating something different.
Try it, and feel the shift.

How did you feel after you reframed your vision as a question? Share your thoughts in the comment box below.

When I asked myself the question :Why is my business so prosperous? , I realized it is prosperous but I sometimes focus on how it could be more prosperous and that is the limitation I impose to my subconscious….Your comment s very ‘a propos’ Thank you

Thank you, Suzanne. Ever since I have been reframing what I want as a question, I become aware of where I still have limiting beliefs.

Thanks, Jen. I’ve been using this technique lately, and it has been revealing where I need to open up. We can use Simply Healed energy work to clear our blocks. But if we are more invested in a negative outcome, we won’t see the same results. For instance, “Why am I still struggling financially?” vs. “Why am I thriving financially?” Or “why is it so hard to be a mom?” vs. “why is it so easy and rewarding to be a mom?”

It’s been wonderful to see the shifts in my family since I have taught them re-framing.
