Why You Aren’t Getting Results

by | Jan 10, 2014 | Uncategorized

Here’s why you aren’t getting the results you really want:

As I was writing today, my eyes strained to see. I gazed above at the high arching ceiling in my family room. 3 lights had burned out. Only 3 lights remained.

Someone (aka my husband) needs to replace these lights, I concluded. I laughed at myself because my reaction to the dim light illustrates today’s point.

Catching my hypocrisy, I shifted gears. I checked one of the light switches. There was one more light that turned on, when I flipped a switch.

And I checked my computer settings. The brightness was on the lowest setting. Ooola! With an adjustment, the light was bright, and I could see again.

As long as I placed the blame on my present circumstances outside myself, I was powerless. I could wait until my husband found the time to scale a 30 foot ladder to replace the lights.

Or I could search within and find a solution.

I share this because if you are not getting the results that you want, here’s a question to ask yourself:

Are you placing the blame outside of yourself?
You might not even think it is blame. Often, you insist…. well, this is just the way it is.

We are struggling financially because my husband has a scarcity mindset and he doesn’t support my vision.

Or my leaders on my direct sales team are just not committed and motivated to do what it takes to be successful.

Or if only my kids or spouse would listen to me, we would have more harmony in the home. (I’m guilty of that one…)

It doesn’t matter the reason.

As long as you place the blame outside of yourself, you are powerless.

On the other hand, the minute you decide to look within and say, “Hmmmm. This is a theme in my life. And the common denominator is me. What can I change about my thoughts and belief that are creating these present circumstances?”

When you make that switch, you become empowered.

Today’s post is short and sweet.

What is not perfect in your life? And what needs to change?

If you are looking within, you are on the path to success.

Dear Tera, I love this post! Once we stop and see what we’re doing blaming outside of ourselves we step directly into our power. I like to remind myself that there is a doorway to freedom and solutions in every situation and circumstance! Blessings to you today, Susan
