5 Simple Ways to Identify and Remove Blocks

by | Aug 5, 2012 | Transcending the Upper Limit

Have you ever felt resistant to change in an area of your life? Do you procrastinate on an action that could yield big rewards? Unwillingness to change could signal an underlying block. Blocks prevent us from standing fully in our own Light. Yet blocks also represent a potent area for transformation because the resistance masks a primal fear of our own greatness. We can have blocks about attracting more clients, opening a business to pursue our passion, dealing with our finances, keeping a journal, caring for our health, or making wildly intimate love. But by identifying our blocks, we are half-way on the path to releasing them.

What are the top 5 challenges for you? What would your life be like if you could overcome this challenge? Perhaps, by identifying a challenge, you may locate a block that is preventing you from fully thriving in your Truth.

Here are 5 simple ways you can overcome a block:

1. Journaling
Describe the challenge, the corresponding block, and how it presents in your life now. Write about what your life would be like, if the block no longer bothered you.For example, when my challenge was returning to my ideal weight after pregnancy, my block was feeling resistant to exercising consistently or avoiding sugar and white flour. I would eat foods for optimal energy, but in the afternoon, I would give into stress-snacking or enjoying dessert with my family. But when I realized that my block was tied to my fear of success in my practice, the block was released.

2. Visualization
Before sleeping, visualize what your life would be like without the block. Use the most minute details to imagine your life. This exercise can be very powerful in creating the life of your dreams.

3.Affirmations
When the block or trigger comes up for you, say “I choose to release this block. I choose to get over this challenge. It is safe to let this go and stand in my truth.”

4. Gratitude
Choose to look at your current situation and the presenting challenge with gratitude. Pay attention to the details for which you feel grateful. This action can disempower the block.

5.Re-program
Analyze the habit sequence (cue, performance, reward) and reprogram your brain to overwrite the block. For instance, at bedtime, my prayers were often half-muttered in my bed as I was falling asleep. I have learned to reprogram myself to hit the ground before I crawl into bed. The reward is snuggling under my covers and feeling connected to my Creator. Charles Duhigg’s The Power of Habit helped me to analyze my habit sequence and retrain my brain for better habits.

If you try these actions and earnest prayer, but the block still persists, consider trying energy work. As a practitioner of Simply HealedTM, my specialty is removing blocks, particularly those tied to generational and childhood memories. Sometimes, we have excess energetic baggage that makes is more challenging to move forward. Energy work is not for everyone, but if you are ready and willing, releasing the blocks can be quite easy.
